New York DMV earns Commissioners’ Recognition Program Award for web-based Certified Inspector Training program.

With over 50,000 independent vehicle inspectors, New York is the largest decentralized program in the United States. Opus has helped the DMV ensure an efficient pipeline of certified inspectors for the future.

Opus Inspection in collaboration with New York DMV designed a web-based certified Inspector Training program.  The web-based program allowed over 3,500 applicants to train for DMV certification in its first year of operation.

The new system design drastically improved the end to end processes from initial inspector application, course registration, study curriculum, practice exams, final exam registration and testing.

As inspector training was a very labor-intensive process for DMV, it is now automated and flexible to change. The improvements to the processes and training curriculum were significant enough to earn the Commissioners’ Recognition Program Award.

Frank Ofiero, Opus Corporate Director New York, said, ‘The Award recognizes the DMV in New York for efficiency and innovation. We are very proud to have helped them win this prestigious award.’
