Opus wins new concession in Chile

Opus has won a public tender and signed a 9-year vehicle inspection concession in Arica, Chile.

Opus’ Vehicle Inspection division has signed a new contract with El Ministerio de Transportes y Telecomunicaciones in Chile, to design, build and operate a vehicle safety inspection program in the region of Arica, using the most advanced technologies and efficient management practices.

The program includes two stations in the port city of Arica, one serving light-duty vehicles, and the other both heavy- and light-duty vehicles. The concession is expected to generate approximately SEK 120 million in net revenues over the 9-year concession.

"This will be our fifth vehicle inspection program in Chile, expanding our footprint in this important market. We are excited about building a long-term partnership with the region of Arica. We expect to start the program in Q4 2018", said Alfredo R. Granai, President, Latin America.
