State of Illinois intends to award a vehicle inspection contract to Opus Inspection

Opus Inspection, Inc. has received a notice of intent to award a contract to provide Vehicle Emissions Testing services from the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency (IEPA).  Negotiations are expected to last 45 days or more before official contract signing. The term of the contract is expected to be for 9 years. 

In its public notice, the IEPA said, “The Agency intends to award a contract to Opus Inspection, Inc. for an estimated value of $125,000,000. It is the determination of the Agency that Opus Inspection, Inc. has been deemed to be responsive and the most advantageous to the state through a combination of technical evaluation and price.”

“We are very pleased that IEPA has issued a notice of award to Opus Inspection to be its future contractor,” said Lothar Geilen, President and CEO of Opus Inspection. “We proposed our latest, advanced technologies, which will provide the State of Illinois with a highly reliable, customer convenient program for years to come.”
