Systech Chile awarded a first contract to build and operate vehicle inspection stations in Chile

Systech Chile Ltda., a subsidiary of Opus Inspection, Inc., has been awarded a contract, through competitive bidding, to design, build, equip, and operate three centralized vehicle inspection stations in the Maule Region, south of Santiago, Chile.  The contract with the Maule Regional Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunication is for an 8-year concession to provide vehicle emission and road worthiness inspections in the cities of Curicó, Parral, and Constitución.

The inspection stations, known as “Plantas de Revisión Técnica” (PRT), will each contain Opus Inspection’s fully automated, state-of-the-art, multi-position lanes for both light and heavy duty vehicles. The concession will conduct approximately 65,000 paid vehicle inspections a year.

“We are very pleased to have been awarded a concession in Chile’s Region 7, and look forward to working with the Ministry to provide a consumer-friendly experience at our new PRT stations,” said Lothar Geilen, CEO of Opus Inspection. “This contract is a milestone for Opus Inspection, as it provides the foundation to expand our business in Chile, and elsewhere in South America.”

This contract will start generating revenues in 2015. The annual revenues of this contract are estimated to less than USD 1 million.
