Indiana emission contract extension awarded

The State of Indiana has awarded a new four-year contract to Opus subsidiary Envirotest in the U.S. for the management of the Clean Air Car Check vehicle emission testing program in Northwest Indiana.

The Indiana Department of Environmental Management (IDEM) and Envirotest signed a new contract for the Clean Air Car Check centralized emissions testing program, effective January 10, 2019. The four-year contract allows for additional potential extensions through 2026.

The Clean Air Car Check reviews approximately 220,000 vehicles a year in Lake and
Porter counties at seven stations – and also screens vehicles for evaporative leaks using Opus’ remote sensing technology.

Sandra Y. McCulloch, Opus President for the U.S. and Asia and Opus Inspection, Inc. CEO, said, “Opus is proud to have contributed to clean air in Indiana since 1997 by identifying the most polluting vehicles. We are delighted to continue offering emission testing for the citizens of Indiana for years to come.”
